it's been almost a year since our last adventure began.
and what's happened since then? well, for one, the stock market bombed. a lot of america is unemployed (including 50% of b+j at one time or another). layoffs abound. tomorrow is uncertain.
but one year ago, all of that was for future jenn and future brandon to figure out. we were eager to head out on an adventure; no stock market or double-digit unemployment rate would stop us. and luckily, neither of those problems existed when we set sail.
so where were we a year ago today?
we had decided that as much fun as we'd had in boston, it was time to leave. once you pick up and move to a new city—with no job and no familiarity—it becomes rather addicting. four years in boston and we were itching for something new....the thrill of no employment, no place to live, no answers.
we quit our jobs, sad to leave our new friends. we put all of our belongings into two 5' x 8' x 7' pods and sent them packing for the left coast. we said goodbye to family, friends and the city we'd grown so close to. and we ate one more burger at bukowski's. then we put a secret red journal, a camera and 6 pairs of socks into our backpacks. we were off to europe.
